Coffee Cup, possibly John and Jane Pennington, Liverpool, soft paste porcelain, c.1770

Possibly produced by John and Jane Pennington, this Liverpool coffee cup is painted with the popular Mandarin theme of a woman and child in a garden, beside a vase filled with flowering branches.

It is interesting to compare the treatment of this pattern with that of the slightly earlier Worcester example here.

Condition: Excellent - no chips, cracks or restoration.

Dimensions: Height 6.2 cm
