|Coaster or Stand, Derby, soft paste porcelain, c.1765|
This rare and unusual circular coaster or stand is decorated in the style of the 'Moth Painter', with five fantastical moths in flight arranged around the outside, beneath a chocolate line rim.
Patch marks to the base.
Provenance: The Liane Richards Collection.
Condition: A restored crack from the rim extends into the base, and there are three small chips to the rim. There is glaze wear to the interior base, and also light wear to the enamel line. The outline of the stand is slightly misshapen.
