A Staffordshire porcelain model of a Poodle, circa 1840
This good quality Staffordshire Poodle is modelled holding a basket of flowers in its mouth, standing on a scroll-moulded base with gilt line and four lion’s paw feet.
There is an impressed asterisk mark beneath the base.
Dimensions: Height 11.3 cm.
Condition: The tail has been off and reattached, and there are small losses to the two flowers. No other damage. From manufacture, one of the lion’s paw feet is slightly shorter than the others. The lead glaze shows typical fine crazing in places. The gilt line decoration is in good order.
