A Bristol blue glass Sugar Basin, circa 1820
This blown glass sugar basin has a short stem and domed and folded foot, with a snapped pontil.
The shade of blue is wonderful, and the bowl rings like a bell, with a pure, clear tone.
Provenance: With Jeanette Hayhurst; an English Private Collection.
Condition: No chips, cracks or restoration, only a few minor surface scratches to the exterior of the bowl. It is of a good weight, with excellent wreathing to the blown bowl and expected wear to the underside of the folded foot.
Dimensions: Height 11.9 cm; Diameter (at rim) 11.6 cm
