A Bristol delftware ‘Fazackerley’ Plate, Richard Frank, Redcliff Back, circa 1750-60
Painted with sprays of flowers in yellow, manganese-purple, dull green and blue, this Bristol delftware plate was made at Redcliff Back, under Richard Frank. This particular palette and style of painting, known as ‘Fazackerley’, is not often seen on Bristol, being more closely associated with Liverpool delftware.
Condition: Typical minor flaking and losses to the rim found on most tin-glazed earthenware items. Small spur or stilt marks can be seen on the reverse, indicating how such wares were stacked and fired in the kiln. The glaze has pooled and crawled in places during the manufacturing process. No cracks or restoration.
Dimensions: Diameter 23 cm
