A Chinese Creamer and Cover, Qianlong, circa 1750
This Chinese Qianlong creamer and cover is finely decorated with peonies, winged insects, and flowering branches, the brown enamel leaves picked out with gilt lines.
This particular style of famille rose flower painting was copied by the early Worcester porcelain decorators for a short period during the mid 1750s.
Condition: The enamel and gilt floral decoration is in very good order. Nearly always lost, the original cover has survived with only a flat chip to the flange and some wear to the gilding on the knop. There are typical minor manufacturing flaws including clay tears, glazed firing cracks, and a firing / kiln spot to the interior, along with fritting to the foot rim.
Dimensions: Height (to top of knop) 11.5 cm
