A Lowestoft Pickle Dish, circa 1765
The centre of this Lowestoft leaf pickle dish is painted in underglaze blue with a trailing vine, apparently growing from the stalk. The rim is painted with the so-called berry border, and the underside is press-moulded with a leaf vein design.
Condition: There are some chips and smaller losses to the serrated edge and the footrim, as well as staining to parts of the underside, notably around the base. No cracks or restoration.
Dimensions: Width 9.5 cm
