A small Lowestoft Creamer, circa 1772

This small Lowestoft sparrow beak creamer is decorated in underglaze blue with the Two Dromedaries on a Raft pattern. This style of applied handle with thumbrest was used for a very short period from around 1772.

Unmarked.

Condition: There is a tiny amount of glaze loss to the tip of the spout and a very small imperfection to the foot rim, possibly caused during removal from the kiln. A firing flaw can be seen inside the creamer and there is typical blurring to the underglaze blue. No cracks or restoration.

Dimensions: Height 9 cm
