A Saint-Cloud Trembleuse Saucer, circa 1720

This Saint-Cloud trembleuse saucer, with its gadrooned moulding and underglaze blue painted Bérainesque ornaments, mirrors the ornate Baroque gold and silver creations of artisans working in precious metals in Europe during the late Seventeenth and early Eighteenth Centuries. The rim is mounted with a white metal band, engraved as a continuous wreath of tightly-bound leaves.

StCT mark to the base in underglaze blue.
