A rare pair of Bristol delftware ‘Fazackerley’ Plates, probably Richard Frank, circa 1760
Painted with sprays of tied flowers in yellow, manganese-purple, dull green and blue, surrounded by a foliate border of bianco-sopra-bianco white enamel, these Bristol delftware plates were probably made by Richard Frank. This particular palette and style of painting, known as ‘Fazackerley’, is not often seen on Bristol, being more closely associated with Liverpool delftware.
