A salt-glazed stoneware Jelly Mould, English, 19th century
The oval interior of this salt-glazed stoneware jelly mould is modelled as a melon. The brown glaze comprises various attractive shades, and the unglazed base is impressed with the numeral 2.
In addition to being a wonderfully usable item, it looks great as part of a display of antique kitchenalia.
Condition: Good – no damage or restoration. From manufacture, there are expected impurities and minor anomalies to the glaze, such as small pieces of grit, glaze crawl, and crazing.
