A Wedgwood jasper Cup, 19th century

This small Wedgwood cup was made at Etruria, Staffordshire, during the 19th century. The sage jasper dip stoneware body is applied with sprigged classical decoration depicting the Three Graces and a group scene known as The Procession. These are arranged between two applied bands of three narrow lines. The two designs are separated by sprigged trees and plants. The interior is glazed.

The diminutive size, combined with the shape and colour, makes for an unusual piece.

Impressed WEDGWOOD, E and B(?).

Condition: No damage or restoration, just a minute dimple on the rim and a minor glaze flaw to the inside rim, both from manufacture.

Dimensions: Height 5 cm
