A Worcester Coffee Cup, circa 1775

This neatly potted coffee cup is decorated in enamel and gilt with a Compagnie des Indes pattern, being loosely based on the stylised flower decoration found on contemporary famille rose Chinese export wares. The red scroll border is highlighted with gilt decoration. The grooved handle is especially fine.

Condition: No damage or restoration, just wear to the gilt line rim from use.
